Mark Kermode and I are planning a special film music event on home turf at the Cornwall Film Festival this November.

The festival is taking place from 16th to 22nd November at the Poly in Falmouth – check out the programme here – and we’ll be there for a Mark Kermode’s Surround Sound: The Stories of Movie Music talk on Saturday 21st from 12-1.30pm, followed by a book signing (and as we all know, signed copies make wonderful Christmas presents).

We’ll be chatting about how the book came together, what we learned about film music along the way, and our favourite anecdotes told by the composers and directors we interviewed. We’re currently working out which music clips to include and I’m devising a playlist for music to play in the auditorium beforehand. As someone who’s obsessed with making playlists, this is an excellent project.

We’d love to see you at the Poly on 22nd November – get your tickets here!
