The Three Mathsketeers – that’s Bobby Seagull, Susan Okereke and me – are delighted that Maths Appeal has been included in The Sunday Times’ list of the 100 Podcasts to Love.
The list described Maths Appeal as “an entertaining and informal podcast that sets maths puzzles you think you can’t do. It’s presented by two teachers, Bobby Seagull (of the formidable University Challenge duo) and Susan Okereke, who make a scary subject accessible”.
It’s lovely to read that because one of our goals was to make maths accessible to everyone. Series 1 finished in Spring, but our aim was to create ‘evergreen content’ (as they say in the trade) so that the podcasts are not time-specific and are ready to be discovered and enjoyed whenever you fancy!
We’re currently discussing series 2, and whether we focus on one audience, namely GCSE students. In the meantime, Bobby and Susan continue to set BBC Radio 4’s Puzzle for Today on a regular basis and they’ve collaborated with fellow maths champion Tom Rocks Maths. I’m yet to see the videos but it sounds like they had a lot of fun making them!
If you’ve listened to the podcast or helped us spread the word, many thanks! If you’ve missed any episodes, catch up on Spotify, iTunes or Soundcloud.
